Aviation taught me risk and compliance. My father taught me security. FTSAI is what happened when I put them together and pointed them at AI.
Aviation taught me to see failure early.
My background is in aviation, working with flight risk and safety data. In that world you do not wait for something to go wrong. You map how it could fail, you build the checks, and you keep a human accountable for the call. Risk and compliance are not paperwork there. They are the difference between a safe flight and a headline.
When AI arrived in business, I recognised the same problem wearing new clothes. Everyone was rushing to adopt it, and almost nobody was asking where it should not go. The discipline aviation drilled into me, map the failure before it happens, turned out to be exactly what governing AI needs.
My father, and the dinner-table lesson.
My father built his career as a Chief Information Security Officer. I grew up around the idea that trust has to be engineered, that access is earned, and that the quiet risk is the one that hurts you. A lot of what I now teach about security-first AI started at our table long before it was ever a business.
I learned it by doing the work.
I did not learn this from a course. I built FTSAI while holding down a day job, teaching myself what I did not know by building it in the open. Real projects, real clients, real deadlines, and real mistakes I had to own.
Every framework I teach has been tested on actual businesses, not invented on a slide. That is why I can stand in front of a security team and mean what I say. I have been on the other side of the problem, and I know what it costs to get it wrong.
AI is not magic. It is a pipeline.

FTSAI is not just me anymore, and that matters more to me than any contract. Denzel, Sean and Enrique are proof that this works, that you can take someone with drive and no map, and give them real, governed skills that change their path. Training them is the part that will outlast me.
